Facelift Costs and Pricing

How Much Does a Facelift Cost?

While a facelift may seem like a highly appealing experience, the question of facelift cost can become a pressing concern.  As there are multiple different kinds of facelifts, there are multiple prices associated with each kind.  Some of the more invasive techniques such as the full traditional facelift or rhytidectomy are more expensive, while the mini facelift may be more affordable.  Non-surgical facelift procedures such as the liquid facelift, stem cell facelift, laser facelift, and others can vary greatly in price due to the number of treatments required and the technology used for the procedure.  In addition to the facelift cost, there are often other expenses that may need to be paid for such as blood tests, x-rays, and staying overnight in the hospital if needed.  Obviously, all cosmetic procedures have a cost associated with them, and because they are typically deemed “unnecessary” or not “vital to medical health”, insurance companies will usually not pay for them.  Therefore, the financial cost is typically entirely out of pocket for the individual.  This article will go over some of the facelift cost price ranges a prospective facelift patient would face, depending on the type of facelift he or she intends to receive.

Surgical Facelift Cost: Full and Mini Facelift Procedures

Facelift surgery is usually more expensive than non-surgical facelift procedures because it requires more anesthesia and potentially more pain medication.  There are also more potential risks associated with it (and therefore, more potential facelift cost to afford).  Because the recovery time for facelift surgery can be several days or weeks, having a surgical facelift can cost the individual additional time off of work.  For the full facelift, the actual procedure typically ranges in price from around $5,000 or $6,000 to $15,000.  The costs of anesthesia and hospital fees are usually $1,000 or $2,000.  However, this price range depends largely on the amount of work that needs to be done on the face and the location of the country in which the surgery is performed.  The mini facelift price is usually less expensive as it covers a smaller area of the face; typically it ranges from $3,500 to $7,000.

Non-Surgical Facelift Cost: Liquid, Laser, Stem Cell, Ultrasound, Microcurrent, and Thermage Facelifts

Non-surgical facelifts cost varying amounts of money due to the varying number of procedures required to achieve the desired results.  For the liquid facelift, the cost is around $2,000; however, multiple treatments are required including touch up treatments every twelve to eighteen months.  These may decline in price over time, but the overall expense can get pretty high, especially if Botox cosmetic is added to the liquid fillers.  A laser facelift cost is usually between $500 and $3,500, but can get as high as $6,000.  A microcurrent facelift may cost only about $100 per treatment, but doctors recommend between six to twelve treatments for the initial facelift and routine follow-up treatments to maintain the results.  The facelift cost of an ultrasound facelift is in the range of several thousand dollars; however, only one treatment is necessary and results can last for five to ten years afterwards.  A thermage facelift may cost between $1,000 and $5,000, with the results lasting up to a few years.  Stem cell facelifts cost between $3,000 and $5,000, and results last long enough to not necessitate multiple treatments soon after the initial procedure.  Generally speaking, the cost of each non-surgical facelift procedure can be similar depending on the treatment needed and the patient’s age and skin elasticity.

Which Facelift Is Most Affordable?

As stated above, each type of facelift has a different cost.  In order to help patients manage facelift cost, most clinics will offer financing packages to make the procedures more affordable.  As each patient’s needs are unique to the individual, determining which facelift is most affordable depends on the needs and desires of the patient.  With the above information, you can decide which facelift procedure is most affordable for you.  Talk to your doctor about your options and he or she can help you consider the surgeries to find the one most suited to both your financial and your physical needs.
